When you are on a journey of displacement…. learning a new culture is difficult and overwhelming.

At Places to Thrive, we are solving this through an innovative strategy called Coffee with Maggy and Joe. In addition to our live sessions, we are now recording podcast segments that families can watch and learn about the differences.

While most cultural orientation is one way - in other words - here is what it is like in the US - ours is two way. It discusses Haitian culture, and highlights simialrities and differences in the US. Because that is what our team who have been forcibly displaced told us what we need to do.

As you can see from this picture…it does not take long for Maggy and Joe’s amazing energy together to erupt in laughter.
